BMKG issues torrential rain warning in several parts of Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning of torrential rains accompanied by lightning and eddies that will occur in several parts of Indonesia on Sunday.
According to the BMKG website here on Sunday, several provinces that will experience torrential rains as well as lightning and high winds are Aceh, Banten, Bengkulu and West Java.
Similar weather conditions can also occur in the provinces of West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Lampung, Moluccas, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, from Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sumatra and South Sumatra.
BMKG explained that the cyclonic circulation was observed in northern Aceh and the northern waters of West Papua and Papua where the confluence and deceleration of the convergence had elongated from the west coast of North Sumatra. in Aceh, from Bengkulu to West Sumatra and West Papua.
The convergence also stretched from north Sumatra to the west coast of Aceh, north of the Strait of Malacca, to Bengkulu, to the south coast of Central Java to West Java, north of Kalimantan to the Strait from Karimata, south Kalimantan, south-east Sulawesi, central Makassar to southern part of central Kalimantan and Maluku.
Meanwhile, the confluence was also observed in the Sulawesi Sea and the northern waters of West Papua.
BMKG said such weather conditions can potentially trigger the growth of rains in areas where cyclonic circulation, convergence and confluence occur.
