But seven years later, the young boy managed to let go of his unhealthy addiction and was pictured thinner and happier in 2017.
Previously overweight, Ardi, who drank three cans of fatty condensed milk a day, now eats fresh fish, fruits and vegetables.
The boy explained that it was very difficult to quit smoking.
He told CNN: âIt was hard for me to quit. If I don’t smoke my taste in my mouth is sour and my head is dizzy.
“I’m happy now. I feel more excited and my body feels fresh.”
With government intervention and intensive specialist care, Ardi’s parents were able to wean him from cigarettes.
His mother Diana said Ardi would have tantrums when she took his queers off him.
She said she was afraid her son would die from his addiction.
“He (was going) to start smashing his head against the wall. He was crazy, hurting himself if he didn’t smoke,” Diana said.
Ardi’s parents said the tobacco addiction started when his father gave him his first cigarette when he was just 18 months old.
After quitting smoking, Ardi’s love of junk food grew so quickly that his parents had to seek help from a nutritionist.
Now, with the help of food specialists, Ardi is now addictive free and excelling in school.
