Former Minister and Top Congressman GS Bali at a press conference in Kangra today said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur should renounce the use of the helicopter and embezzle funds to provide facilities at Covid hospitals across the state.
He alleged that, according to information, more than Rs 5 lakh was spent every hour on the use of the helicopter by the CM. The state needs every penny to be diverted to establishing health facilities when the government is not doing enough.
Bali said the biggest failure of the state and the unity government was that it had miserably failed to control the black market marketing of essential equipment, oxygen cylinders and even medicine.
In Kangra, the cost of oximeters which, according to printing rates, was roughly Rs 500, were sold at prices of Rs 3000 in local markets. To add to that, people are not getting oximeters which were essential for monitoring oxygen levels in corona patients, he said.
Bali alleged that antiviral drugs were also not available in medical stores. The cost of most essential drugs like paracetamol and azithromycin has nearly doubled since the second wave of the Corona virus hit the country. – TNS
