Indonesia prepares for MotoGP; Lombok-Mandalika airport bypass to be completed in 2021
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The government is targeting the construction of the bypass from Lombok International Airport to Mandalika Special Economic Zone to be completed in August 2021. The 17 kilometer bypass will be one of the supporting infrastructure for the MotoGP 2021 event.
Febry Calvin Tatelepta, First Deputy of the Presidential Office, reviewed Lombok Airport’s road access to the Mandalika MotoGP circuit on Wednesday, November 4.
“Everything must be completed and we must succeed together [organizing] MotoGP, “said Febry.” We’re here to monitor MotoGP 2021 readiness from Lombok Airport to the roads. “
Meanwhile, West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zulkieflimansyah said all construction work needed for MotoGP 2021 is underway. Zulkieflimansyah also stressed that the well-being of people must be a priority in every development. He doesn’t want the Mandalika MotoGP event to be enjoyed by only a handful of people, without involving the community.
Febry said that in the development process, the government and all parties related to the implementation of MotoGP must coordinate with the communities. “No company should be harmed,” he said.
