Moderate magnitude 4.6 earthquake strikes in the morning 73 km southwest of Bandar Lampung, Indonesia

The earthquake struck at a shallow depth of 10 km below the epicenter near Bandar Lampung, Lampung, Indonesia, on the morning of Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:43 a.m. local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter and depth of the quake could be revised in the coming hours or minutes, as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies release their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) which also listed the 4.6 magnitude earthquake.
Based on preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused significant damage, but was likely felt by many as a slight vibration in the epicenter area.
Weak tremors could have been felt in Bandar Lampung (800,300 inhabitants) located 73 km from the epicenter.
