TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi has called for the intensification of vaccination against Covid-19 in three provinces, namely West Java, Central Java and Banten. He said the percentage of inoculation in the three provinces was still low.

“West Java 12%, Central Java 14%. If it picks up speed, Java will get collective immunity. Hopefully end of August or mid-September,” the chairman said Friday at a closed-door PPKM meeting on Friday. emergency, which was broadcast on the presidential secretary’s YouTube channel on Saturday, July 17.

Currently, the province with the highest vaccination rate is Bali with 81 percent. Followed by Jakarta with 72%, Jokowi said.

He even expressed his optimism that collective immunity will be achieved in both regions. To achieve the goal, the president ordered Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to immediately use the available vaccine stocks.

Nationally, daily vaccination against Covid-19 has reached 2.3 million doses. The president is optimistic about the possibility of reaching the goal of 5 million daily doses. “The key to ending it (the Covid-19 pandemic) is vaccination,” Jokowi noted.
