Mandalika circuit will have a multiplier effect on Lombok tourism, Economic news
LOMBOK, INDONESIA, Sep 22, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – The Mandalika International Circuit will have a multiplier effect on the development of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the well-being of the people of Lombok, province of West Nusa Tenggara and surrounding areas, a member of the House of Representatives said. The circuit is being prepared for MotoGP and other international racing championships.
According to a member of Commission X of the House of Representatives, Andreas Hugo Pareira, the Mandalika SEZ is a tourist complex with an adequate area and is supported by all existing facilities. “I think Mandalika will become an inclusive area for the surrounding communities. There is an aspect of the multiplier effect for the benefit of the well-being of the community.”
“The Mandalika circuit should contribute to the development and promotion of tourism in the Mandalika SEZ, Lombok and also in Indonesia,” added Andreas. “The presence of the Mandalika circuit is a wake-up call in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic. ”
The Mandalika MotoGP circuit in the central district of Lombok is expected to impact the economic progress of the community and local culture, observers said.
Culturalist from central Lombok, Datu Tuan H Lalu Putria, stressed that the construction of the MotoGP circuit will benefit all parties, especially the local community. He also pointed out that the circuit will absorb many workers through micro-small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and transport services, among others.
“If the circuit is over and MotoGP activities begin, then surely the human resources of the community can participate. So all parties have to be ready to host now,” he said.
The 4.31 km, 17-turn Mandalika International Circuit is surrounded by panoramic views of the hills and the sea. The circuit track was built with the latest asphalt technology in Stone Cast Asphalt (SMA), which is said to be the best in the world, officials said.
