The launch of the #ByBaliForBali campaign by Marriott International in Indonesia was recently celebrated with an inaugural dinner at the St. Regis Bali Resort. Here’s why engagement matters
In line with Marriott’s Serve360 commitment to do good in all directions and guided by the 2025 Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, Marriott International in Indonesia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank Indonesia. The MoU outlines Marriott International’s commitment to supporting local Balinese agriculture and fishing industries by working with two leading food supply chain companies, Perusahaan Umum Daerah Dharma Santhika Tabanan and UD Aditya Poultry Shop.
“This timely and strategic collaboration with Bank Indonesia plays a pivotal role in supporting local businesses and the recovery of tourism in Bali. Guided by Marriott’s Serve360 to advocate for local sourcing by ensuring a substantial amount of all products are locally sourced by 2025, this is the first step in the right direction towards a better and more sustainable future,” said Ramesh Jackson, Regional Vice President – Indonesia, Marriott International.
In the presence of I Wayan Koster, Governor of Bali; Trisno Nugroho, head of the representative office of Bank Indonesia for the province of Bali; Ramesh Jackson, Regional Vice President – Indonesia, Marriott International; and several regents from the regencies of Bali, the evening was opened with a speech by the governor, affirming his support for the agreement. It is aligned with the Governor of Bali’s 2018 Regulation No. 99, which requires HoReCa (hotel, restaurant and catering) businesses to prioritize the use of local agricultural, fishing and handicraft products in their Commercial activities.
