Ministry disburses aid to 370 children at Mount Rinjani, Lombok

East Lombok, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed Social Rehabilitation Assistance (Atensi) to 370 children at the foot of Mount Rinjani, Sembalun Sub-district, East Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara ( NTB), to celebrate National Children’s Day (HAN) 2022.
The aid was symbolically handed over on Monday by the head of the Handayani Children’s Social Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Romal Sinaga, to the head of the Sembalun sub-district Serkapudin, in the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini via teleconference.
“Children have the right to succeed. They can become anything they want by pursuing their dreams,” Minister Rismaharini said to motivate Sembalun children via teleconference.
Meanwhile, Sinaga noted that the welfare transfer was part of a series of HAN celebrations organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs across the country from July 24 to August 1, 2022, one of which was held in Sembalun sub-district, East Lombok. District.
The series of activities started with Social Worker Goes to School (PGTS) activity in Sembalun 01 Primary School, Sembalun 01 Middle School and Sembalun 01 High School. social reintegration of Handayani children from the Ministry of Social Affairs. During this activity, up to 100 students learned educational materials for young people and played traditional games to explore their potential.
Besides PGTS, the social workers go to the community activity which took place in three villages: Sembalun, Sajang and Bilok Petung.
Social workers as well as social instructors, nurses and psychologists were present for the children inviting them to play traditional games, colour, sing and tell stories.
“Parents also received parenting tips, such as learning how to say positive affirmation words and empowering their children,” Sinaga noted.
He said that all children involved in the series of HAN 2022 activities have received assistance in the form of meeting their nutritional needs and receiving door prizes, bags and the like.
In addition, another 120 children from three villages received assistance in the form of items to meet their nutritional needs, such as milk, biscuits and green beans; as well as items of daily use, including clothes, school uniforms, mattresses, bed linen and others, according to the results of the assessment of the needs of each child.
“The total aid distributed to 370 children in Sembalun sub-district by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Handayani Center amounts to Rs 220 million,” he said.
One of the children from Sembalun district, Naya, thanked the Minister of Social Affairs for the social assistance she received.
“Thank you, Minister, for your help. I hope you are still in good health,” she said.
