Police suspect suicide after Canadian national was found dead in Karangasem regency in Bali
A Canadian national was found dead Monday in a house in the Karangasem regency in Bali, with authorities suspecting he may have committed suicide.
The victim, identified as LB, would have been found covered in blood and with cuts to the wrists in the bathroom. Her romantic partner, identified as S, was the first to make the discovery.
Authorities said there were cuts on LB’s left arm that damaged his blood vessels, which were about four inches long and two inches wide.
“At the moment, our main suspicion is suicide, from what we saw at the scene,” Padangbai sub-prefecture chief I Made Suadnyana said today.
LB was reported to have been living in the house since 2014 and had undergone surgery for pinched nerves, which is believed to have caused him considerable pain. The authorities therefore believe that the physical pain had driven him to suicide.
LB is said to have left a letter containing a will before his death. The body of the deceased was taken to Sanglah General Hospital for further examination.
