Seeds of Cyclone 91W emerge in Sulu Sea; BMKG issues early warning
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) is monitoring the emergence of Tropical Cyclone 91W in the Sulu Sea which borders the Sulawesi Sea. The seeds of the cyclone formed a convergence zone stretching from the waters of the southern Philippines to the Sulu Sea.
The Convergence Zone has also been observed stretching from the Strait of Malacca to Western Aceh Waters, from the South Sunda Strait to Central Java, from Central Kalimantan to the Makassar Strait, from North Kalimantan to the Eastern Waters of East Kalimantan, and from the Biak waters to the southern part of Sorong.
According to the agency, this condition could possibly increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the tropical cyclone area and along the convergence zone. The agency issued an early warning of heavy rain, lightning and high winds today, January 27, for some areas.
These are North Sumatra, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali.
